Official Event: String Clinic
SUNDAY 11/20 12-2PM Park 1
Many of the people involved in organizing and running Gamers Rhapsody are teachers in either private or public settings. We all realized that our students get really excited when they get their hands on music from video games they love to play. With this philosophy in mind, we’re excited to hold our very first youth string clinic at the convention this year!
We will be inviting students in 6th-9th grade to the convention to work with our clinician for a session on Sunday morning. Our clinician this year will be Minnesota native Nick Gaudette. Gaudette teaches strings at Edina High School and is involved with multiple middle school level summer string camps. Gaudette is a bassist and member of the musical group Nerd Enhanced Sound. He also writes his own arrangements of some wicked complicated music.
Students at the clinic will participate in a 2 hour long session where they will read, rehearse, and perform a piece of video game music arranged by our clinician. There will be a unique opportunity for audience participation as well.
To sign up for this event, bring your badge to registration at the event. All participants must bring their own instrument. There will be no extra instruments available.
